Malte MüllerKeymasterbut mostly things like INTERNATIONAL KARATE.
Of course also a C-64 and Amiga classic by Rob Hubbard with a bit of Sakamoto’s MERRY CHRISTMAS MR. LAWRENCE theme 😉 Fastloaders played that as well (there are several albums I sampled but I find the live concerts superior):

Thor Joachim HagaKeymasterOne of my ten favourite scores from last year, a few comments down the page here. Possibly the last work by David Sanborn before he died. 🙁

Well, you can’t know everything, perhaps the members are active in other bands you might have heard or not heard of either 😉

The text placement is “a bit uninspired” maybe but otherwise 😉

Thor Joachim HagaKeymasterYes, very uninspired. And the dash shouldn’t have been there. Can’t even remember what the site was, and can’t find it again now. I’m sure there are better out there, but all of them have sign-ups, limited trial images etc. etc.

Nicolai P. ZwarParticipantOne of my favorite Horner Scores. Branford Marsalis on the Saxophone. I know Russia HOUSE, also featuring Marsalis, is a Goldsmith fan favorite, and it’s a nice score, but if pressed, I’ll admit I’d pick this one if I could keep only one.
19. December 2025 at 20:01 #7120
Thor Joachim HagaKeymasterI know Russia HOUSE
I see what you did there. 😉
And yes, SNEAKERS is great. Nils has a fine write-up here. Wish Marian were here, he loves that score.

Cowboy sweep at its best. Yes, I know it’s “Appalachian”, but how many Western scores were sourced from this? 83%? In any case, a wonderful recording.

About as classic as it gets. I have the Zubin Mehta recording on this set.

Thor Joachim HagaKeymasterWhite-as-a-sheet Scott Bomar really ressurects the funky ghosts of Isaac Hayes and Curtis Mayfield for this silly, little 2019 film. Love it.

Yeah, not to forget other ballets like BILLY THE KID. Elmer Bernstein for sure love him 😉

Nicolai P. ZwarParticipantDecorating our Christmas tree today, and every year I pick a “Christmassy” soundtrack for that. Last year it was HOME ALONE, this year…

More specifically CD 11, “Vespers” – one of my favourite classical/choral works of all time, and with an appropriate, reverential Christmas feel.

Nicolai P. ZwarParticipantWhenever I mention that this is among my favorite Vangelis albums (which is not too often, I admit, I rarely get to mention it) I get a puzzled look.
But the contemplative, absorbing atmosphere that engulfs a room when it is played at just the right volume, not too loud and not too low, is mesmerizing. Abstract, innovative electronic music at its best.
This is the remastered version, which is better and corrected a severe error on the original release, but I still prefer the original cover, which is why I use that. I always have it on the back burner to get the LP one day, just for display purposes.
22. December 2025 at 10:01 #7169
Thor Joachim HagaKeymasterThat’s one bizarre album. I’ve never been able to get into it, even as a crazy Vangelis fanboy. Maybe some day!
22. December 2025 at 11:05 #7171
Nicolai P. ZwarParticipantIt was one of those albums I was always interested in, and I still think I’ll get the LP one day if I find a copy in goog condition for a good price. The original release had a peculiar error, as the tracks were mislabeled, the last two tracks were combined to the first track, and the first track divided into the final two tracks. I do have the remastered version with the corrected tracks. I really like this album a lot. I see this as a “companion piece” of sort to Vangelis’ “Direct”, not in the sense that they are alike, but that they are at the exact opposite spectrum of Vangelis’ output, like two very different sides of a coin. “Direct” is full of pop beats, melody, immediately striking tracks, very accessible, whereas “Invisible Connections” is the exact opposite, very abstract, sparse sonic landscapes. That these albums came out consecutively is quite interesting. I really like both a lot, and interestingly, I liked both right away upon first hearing.
22. December 2025 at 11:15 #7172
Thor Joachim HagaKeymasterThat’s a good point, the simultaneity of those albums, kind of like a JURASSIC PARK/SCHINDLER’S LIST situation. Of course, I absolutely love DIRECT.

That’s the one with the wonderful recording of the Lincoln Portrait with Gregory Peck on it!
