Right this minute is my favourite tracks playlist (currently running to 1,534 tracks), and it’s playing “Chris” from Pat Metheny’s The Falcon and the Snowman.

Good to have you back, Sigbjørn! And THE POST is brilliant, as we both agree (against a horde of lukewarm JWFANers).

It’s good to see the forum being revived!

Yes! Now let’s see if we can get a minimum of TEN people to be regulars. Then we have a forum.

It’s one out of several LPs I got from my dad. Great stuff. Also love the inclusion of Wendy’s electronic musings. And no, that’s not OUR John Williams, but the guitarist.

Let’s add some comments to our “Now Playing” images.

This isn’t normally a type of score I gravitate towards anymore (big and bold, orchestral action film music, with some electric guitars thrown in), but once upon a time, i.e. the 90s, this was the best thing ever. And this score is exactly from this period. So although I came to it late, probably some 10 years ago, I appreciate its “joie-de-vivre”, so to speak.

As someone who cares neither for the Marvel AVENGERS, nor James Bond, this entertaining (but slightly bombastic) score is the closest I’ll get to both.

Such a mesmerizing work for a mesmerizing film. Not for the orchestral theme lovers; this is static and exploratory — but in very intriguing ways that only Jóhannsson could do.

              Have you seen the film?

              Yes, it’s spellbinding.

That’s a good one, although album requires some whittling.

Totally at odds with my current surroundings. Sunny and spring-like. But it’s where I’m at in my walkthrough. Such a hypnotic score in all its aleatoric explorations and deconstructions. A classic in its own right. I love the bits that send associations to Corigliano’s pupil, Elliot Goldenthal.

Never saw that show, but I know Halfdan a little bit. It’s probably his best work.

I can’t make out what that says, Alan – BENBOOKI DECODED?

It’s Benbodhi: Decoded – it seems to be a short documentary from 2024 about the founder of some sort of community. I can’t really work out much about what the documentary is about but there’s mention of things like “cc0”, “onchain”, “nouns”, etc. None of which I really understand.
