Hello, I’m Blaize Morgan O’Brian. I’m an award winning Aquarist who had been in the freshwater aquarium hobby for a large number of years. Prior to leaving the hobby in 2016 (who knows, I may jump back in one day), I specialized in livebearing fish, with a focus on the Poecilia and Micropoecilia genera while placing an emphasis on wild species and preservation. As stated above, I ultimately won national awards for my research. Another interest are carnivorous plants. My favorites are Sarracenia (North American pitcher plants) and Nepenthes (tropical pitcher plants). Aside from them, my other plant interests are cacti and succulents, especially those within the genus Haworthia. Despite all of what’s mentioned, my primary interest is film/television music, particularly Japanese film/TV music. I especially go out my way to collect music from my favorite composer, Akira Ifukube. Thanks to my interest in film music, I happen dabble in music composition. No, I don’t compose the type of droning, monotonous noise often heard in modern Hollywood film scoring. Blah! For those wondering, my username, Ostinato, takes after both a well known Ifukube album as well as a feature I use in my compositions (heavy use of ostinato is common in my music). I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and briefly lived in Moore, Oklahoma in the late ’90s before returning to Houston. I have been residing in Green Bay, Wisconsin since June 2017.
