SigbjørnDeltakerLet me know it you’re in Trondheim, and we can have a short hike in Estenstadmarka or Bymarka, with or without bikes. 🙂
SigbjørnDeltakerIt’s one of my favorite activities, for sure. But I AM considering doing something else for a change
What about biking? 🙂
SigbjørnDeltakerProbably a tie between Tony Thomas’ books MUSIC FOR THE MOVIES and FILM SCORE, and Charles Bernstein’s FILM MUSIC – AND EVERYTHING ELSE.
Thanks for the recommendations. Are these focused on music theory?
SigbjørnDeltakerBetter get the upcoming John Williams biography. 😉
SigbjørnDeltakerWhich one of these would you recommend the most?
SigbjørnDeltakerThe OST is indeed good. Haven’t heard the expansion, though.
SigbjørnDeltakerOST or expansion?
SigbjørnDeltakerI have the Adventures of Robin Hood and the Batman film score guides from Scarecrow Press. It’s kind of arbitrary that I got these two specific titles, as I stumbled over them quite discounted. Haven’t read much in them yet.
SigbjørnDeltakerI don’t like wasting space, so if I have an album I’m quite certain I won’t listen to again, I get rid of it.
SigbjørnDeltakerJohn Williams’ Monsignor is decent. 😉
SigbjørnDeltakerWhat about sending regular updates about recent discussions to those who already are registered in the forum? For example once a week.
SigbjørnDeltakerIndeed. It’s from a classic 70s puppetry family film, it even inspired the pod race in The Phantom Menace. 😉
SigbjørnDeltakerMy top recommendation:
SigbjørnDeltakerI see, although I was referring to the playing, not the sound. Some of their older recordings give the impression they only had time/budget for one take, with little time for practising.
SigbjørnDeltakerDoes this Silva/Prague box contain only newish recordings, or do they go all the way back to the 80s/90s when this team produced a lot of shoddy recordings?
